I'm confused. You say Lucy's parents are Clara and John and then you say they're William and Sophia.
Did you perhaps mean grandparents? There is this family

Hoping to find information connecting to my great great grandmother Lucy Tann, b. 1844 in Leyton, Essex. No father mentioned on her birth certifcate, just her mother's name, Clara Tann. However when she married George Elsdon in 1868, her father is given as John Tann, accountant. Would love to find a connection. P.S. I have since found that Lucy's father was William Tann, he was not born in Essex, maybe Norfolk. Her mother was Sophia, possibly Tait and there was a sister named Clara Tann.
