Hello Julie

Iv e just read your post message from 2004 regarding Scherer. I see you have listed the Hodges name as well. Could you tell me what connections you have with the Hodges. Being a Hodges myself Im always looking for infomation and connections

hi, my name is Julie and i am trying to find any information that anyone could have regarding the SCHERER family. originated in either Germany, Austria or possible Switz. my grandad (Johann Philip Scherer) was born in Nov 1910 in Fulham and was the son of Valentine Scherer and Jessie BENNETT. names may have been spelt different because of the political situation at the time. He married in 1947 to Lilian SHARP and they had children, Irene, Margaret, Winifred and Alexander. I am the daughter of Irene. Jessie and Valentine SCHERER had 2children that i know of, Johann and Ivy. ivy was never married as far as im aware or had children and she died around 1984. Johann also had another child or possibly more from 'unlawful' relationships maybe before and whilst he was married to my Nan, Lilian SHARP. these children would be born anytime from 1940 onwards. but im not sure if they were in the name of Scherer. Johann was a metal polisher by profession and he died in December 1963. My nan went on to marry Patrick Joseph BUCKLEY and they had a child Peter in November 1964. other name include: BENNETT SHARP SCHERER HALL JEWSON SHINE HODGES HERBERT and many others i would be grateful if anyone could shed some light on this with any information however trivial you may think it is. many thx julie
