I am looking for inf. about William Wilkinson, my ggrandfather and his family. He was born c. 1840, served as a soldier, and married Elizabeth Taylor Gibbons (from Grantham) in Aldershot in December, 1869. His first daughter, Alice Mona (my grandmother) was born in the Isle of Man in December, 1870. There were at least 4 other children - Henry, b. 1873, John, b. 1875, Elizabeth, b. 1877 and Ada, b. 1880. At some stage, William left the army and worked as a labourer in a steel mill. In 1881, the family were living at Baptist Street, Manchester. |
