Hello, my name is Desley Lingard from Brisbane, Australia. My grandmother was Gertrude Charlotte Abbott. Her parents were George Abbott and Sarah Ann Samways. Gertrude grew up in Cattistock, Dorest. Are they any relation to you.

My grandmother was Nellie Gladys SAMWAYS (born 1902 in Sydling St Nicholas, Dorset). I have traced back several generations to Henry SAMWAYS and Phillis TAYLOR, who married in 1806 in Portesham,, Dorset. (Most of my SAMWAYS ancestors lived in/around Portesham). I would be very interested to hear from anyone with Dorset-based SAMWAYS connections in their family tree - I'm happy to share the information I have already found on my SAMWAYS ancestors. Thank you, Justin Standfield Southampton, UK
