Good afternoon Colin,
I am researching my maternal mothers family tree.
Her greatgrandfather was a James Bastard married to Hannah Smith in 1855.
Her grandparents were Walter James Bastard and Elizabeth nee Barker, they married 1879 in Kensington, London.
1881 census gave them living in Dorset. They had three children Florence R, Walter Lancelot and Alexander R.
Walter Lancelot and his wife Amelia ? had four children one of whom was my mother Florence Mabel.
The Bastards have a long history of residing in Dorset and actually coming across from France with William the Conqueror.
My grandmother Amelia Bastard actually came from Cornwall.
Not sure if any of this info helps at all but who knows.
Kind regards,
Joyce.
I

Colin

I am trying to find anyone who is researching the Bastard family particularly where the marriage of Mary Ann Vincent and James Bastard married around 1835 in Devon or Cornwall
