I am trying to find members of my Grandmother's family. She was Ivy May Ash, born in May 1895 - I believe from the West Ham area of London. I think she had three sisters Ada, Gertrude and Helen (known as Nell) and two brothers Edward (known as Ned) and Stanley. She married my Grandfather in 1916. He was Charles Edwards also from the West Ham area.

As there are no up dates to your request, I don't know if you have found any of the following info. since 2003, but I have found the following info from the Census records

Joseph ASH b~1851 Boston, Lincolnshire; Stone Mason
Wife, Harriet b~1854 Burnley, Lancashire
Children:- Ada b~1874 Hull, Yorkshire
Gertrude b~1880 Holloway, Middlesex
Edward b~1882 Tottenham, Middlesex
Florence b~1885 Tottenham, Middlesex
Ellen (Helen?) b~1888 Stanford, Essex
John b~1889 Stanford, Essex
IVY b~ 1895 West Ham, Essex

In the 1881 Census their address was 9 Dawlish Rd. East Side; Tottenham, Middlesex.
Joseph was listed as Stone mason/Journeyman

In the 1891 Census their address was 21 Leabon Street (Plaistow) West Ham Essex
Joseph was listed as Stone mason

In the 1901 Census their address was 21 Leabon Street (Plaistow) West Ham Essex
Harriet was listed as ‘Head’ and as married NOT widowed, but Joseph was not listed with them and I could not find him anywhere else.
I also could not find Joseph in the 1871 or 1861 census, nor his marriage to Harriet c1872 ?

In the 1901 census there was also listed:- Henry PADDEN ‘father’ 82 yrs born Dublin, Ireland
And John PADDEN ‘brother’ 55yrs born Sec??bad, East Indies

I have found the 1871 census for this PADDEN family at 19 New Zealand Terrace, Sculcoates, Yorkshire
Henry b~1821, Ireland; Labourer
Wife:- Caroline b~1831, Bombay, Madras East Indies
Children:- Harriet b~1853 Burnley, Lancashire; dressmaker
Henry b~1856 Chatham, Kent; Labourer
Anthony b~1858, madras East Indies
Robert b~1861, Aberdeen, Scotland
Charles b~1865, Hull, Yorkshire
Thomas b~1867, Hull, Yorkshire

I hope that this has been of some help.
