I am looking for info. on my gg/grandfather Tony Jennings b. c1810 Dudley Worcs. Believed to be of Italian extraction he appears on the census records also as Thomas. He and his family were musicians/actors and travelled around middle England and S. Wales between 1850 and 1900. I have an old newspaper article about his actress relative Viola Jennings (b. Bilston 1865) which says he was choirmaster in the church at Dudley. (It doesn't say which church or give any dates.) His son Thomas Jennings b 1844/5 Lincoln, married Sarah Cumper of Chepstow in 1869. The travelling theatre was known as Jennings Bros. theatre and Star theatre. Any information on Tony or any other Jennings relatives would be really appreciated. Thanks. |
