F.Hobbs I'm trying to find any information with regards to my mothers G,grandfather Edward Webb born in Nuneaton, I Have located an Edward who was married in Nuneaton in 1839 but it doesn't state to whom? I don't know how many brothers/sisters he left behind in Nuneaton? He left for India when he was in the army, fighting in the Indian Mutiny and also the Criminean War 1852-53. He died a retired Sargeant of the (39th H.M. foot) in Oct 1911 leaving behind a wife 4 sons and 1 daughter. I know that one of his sons was called Edwin (my mothers grandfather) who had around 11 children of his own. If anyone knows of Edward or has ancestors who knew a brother/son left for India in the mid 1800's please let me know, I would be very grateful. |
