Trying to find Mehew

Hi, we are trying to track down details of Melba Irene Mehew, born 1912, who is my maternal grandmother. (Married Alfred Humphrey 1932, lived in Brigstock, died 1982). She had a sister Hilda and brother William, and their parents were William and Hannah Mehew (nee Wilson). We have been able to go earlier than this in the family, but we are having difficulty finding a birth registration for Melba. We have found marriage and death details, but no info on her being born! We are now suspecting that she may have been taken into the family / adopted sometime before the age of 5. The only Melba we can find who was born at this time was Melba I C Berridge. Does anyone have any information which could help us solve this? Thankyou, Garry Dix |
