Trying to find Longley

James Report 4 Jul 2007 23:45

LONGLEY - Charles Thomas Archbishop of Canterbury 1862-1868 B: 28.07.1794 Boley Hill, Rochester, Kent D: 27.10.1868 Addington, Croydon, Surrey I was always told (as a child) that Charles Thomas Longley was my g-g-g-g-great-grandfather. I even have inherited a painting of him (from my grandparents) showing him when he was Bishop of Ripon in 1836. I've traced my g-g-g-grandfather to be a William Longley (born 1811) who seemed to have lived in Bradford, Yorks, married Caroline Arnold (who died in 1868) and they had at least one child who was also William (born 1841, died 1904). This William Longley (my g g grandfather) was an Architect and always lived in Bradford having at least 3 children - one of which was my g-grandfather Henry Banks Longley. Can anyone link my Longley ancestors with the Archbishop Charles Thomas Longley...? James Timothy Longley Hakim
