Trying to find Crapper

Carol

Carol Report 6 Jul 2007 20:21

My name is Carol. I have now received a marriage cert. from ireland for a William Crapper married a mary Nocton, 1849 in the cathedral of Killaloe, in the county of Clare. Williams father is listed as Henry a , cloth maker. Mary Nocton's father listed as Thomas nocton, a farmer. William is listed as a soldier 3rd regiment.he was residing at Limerick at time of marriage. marriage took place at Killaloe. I think this is the link I need but cant be 100% Our Henry was born in Kings, kildare in 1851.(my great-grand-father) He came to England at some point and married in oxford. to Annie Kyte, or Rosa annie kyte 1877) Her father Alfred, was a tailor in Oxford.I think Williams family originated from Oxford . After this marriage in Ireland they could have returned to oxford. ( If this william is connected to our Henry who married in Oxford.?) Our Henry and annie named their daughter Cecilia Mary Norton Crapper born 1879.. (note the two middle names.) same as on William and Mary nocton marriage. But on the marriage cert of Henry a line is drawn through name of father. May-be he was killed serving and Mary Nocton married again. There is a Mary, head of house, Henry born 1851 Ireland, Martha born Ireland 1852, all on the oxford 1861 census. It is possible she re-married There is a Mary Crapper married a richard Stroud??? after 1861. So I think this is the nearest I have come to finding possibly Henry's parents. (because of the name Cecilia Mary Nocton. Crapper There were more children born in Oxford and Essex. One my grand-father Frank. I have found Henry on the 1841 cencus as a cloth? age 52yrs. Could this be Williams father. William is not there but could have joined the army by now. Henrys wife Martha is stated ,lots of children, one of them Benjamin. Does any-one have this connection in Oxford of the above people. A birth cert. for henry entails looking through parish records. in Ireland. Carol
