Hello I am trying to find out information regarding a Sidney R Russell 1865 born East Wellow Hampshire. His parents were Robert Russell c1842 & Maria Scutt c1837 christened in Dorset. Sidney was 1 of 5 children born to the above parents. Maria died 6/1873. Sidney's father then remarried in 12/1873 to Emma Jane Smith but Sidney did not go to live with them he stayed with his Grandparents Richard Scutt c1814 Affpuddle Dorset and Sarah Scutt (nee Jones) c1811. But In September 1886 Sidney Russell murdered his Grandmother! He turned himself into the police station afterwards. But what i cant understand is that there are no death details for Sidney if he was sentenced to death. He according to the Dorset County Chronicle appeared in Winchester court but have no further details for him! What i am trying to discover is as his Grandfather was Scutt is he related to me as i am Teresa nee Scutt too! If there is anyone who can throw some light on this murder then pleeeeeeeeease help me! I tried to find out this last year but got no further so maybe this year i will solve this mystery! Thanks for reading this Teresa nee Scutt |
