Hi Pamela I don't know if you are still looking for this family, but I think you have some christian names wrong, Margaret Meigh was married in sept qtr 1916 in Woolwich reg dist to Harry S Payton. The twin that died was registered as John F Payton, and the mothers maiden name was wrongly spelt as Maigh. I believe Harry S Payton was Harry Samuel Payton the son of James Payton and he was born in 1884 in Bristol, if you need anymore drop my a message |

I am try to find my mothers relatives named Meigh. My Great grandmother was called Mary Meigh and she had 2 children, Margaret (my grandmother) and a son I think was named John. they lived in Abbey Wood. Margaret would have been born around 1893. Margaret married a man from Bristol named Francis Payton. in 1918 Margaret went to Stourbridge and there she gave birth to twins, Mary (my mother) & Francis. but she did in childbirth. The twins were brough up in Eastbourne by her father cousin and his wife. their surname was Gurr. I have been trying for a long time to locate my relatives, so please if you have any information contact me. |
