Looking for any information on Thomas Moran born around 1860. He served as private 129 the 59th Regiment in Afghanistan in second AngloAfghan War. He returned to England around Novemeber 1880. The 59th Regiment was also known as 2nd Nottinghamshire Regiment and recruited in Nottinghamshire and Leicestershire. I know of him because I have a letter that he wrote in October 1880 to my great grandfather who was a private in the Kings Royal Rifle Corps and also served in Afghanistan. My gt grandfather lived in Sheffield after being discharged from the Army in 1893 until he died in 1898.
