I have this name as my grandmother's nee name, but am doubting that she understood the question as she was from elsewhere and had very little English in 1915 (precious little even when she died in 1977). Suspect that 'sounds like' Tessus might have been where she came from. The only place I can find that could fit is Tetjusi in Russia (on the Volga). Does this fit with anyone else's situation?
