Trying to find Finlay

I am trying to find any information on my husband`s grandfather John Finlay. He was a seaman married to Jane Stewart. Acording to the 1901 census he was born in Glasgow but I cannot find a birth cert. for him He may have been Irish as we know that the family came from Ireland around the Belfast area at some time. His father was Robert mother Margaret nee Paterson. He had at least 6 children Jane born 1892 Maggie 1894, John 1899, James 1901, Henry1908,(my husband`s father) and George circa 1910 who went to south Africa. I would be greatful for any help in tracing him or any of his family. Jan |
