Member Since: March 2005 Posts: 1 Send Message	I am looking for Thomas William Armstrong born 1880 died1943 he was a civil engineer and travelled the world with my grandmother Martha who was on the stage and known as Mattee McNicol the Scottish Mavis although she was born in Darlington - her parents were James and Julia MicNicol who were from Scotland James worked on the Railway and Marthas older sister Jessie married William Rowe who had a chemists shop in Southwark. Thomas and Martha married in Newcastle in 1901 the marriage certificate gives his fathers name as George occupation Smith. Thomas was one of 4 brothers the youngest John died unmarried in Eastborn in the 1950s. Family rumour has them born in Scotland but I can find no trace of them. Family rumour has the other 2 brothers emigrating but where to I have no idea. My Mother Mattee was born in Paris in 1923. Can anyone help?
