Trying to find Reid

On a wing and a prayer, I hope I am able to find some kin for my darling hubby.. His name is Wayne, born June 12 1951 in Toronto's west end, at St Joseph's Hospital. Given up by his birth mother Violet Ruby Reid. Became a ward of the court and child services took over (CAS at onset, then CCAS a bit later). From what we do know, Violet assumed the name Reid from the man who sired her second son, they had not married, it seems she was his housekeeper at the time and for whatever her reasons, took the surname as her own. The only other last name we know for her, is Sharpe. A lovely family took Wayne to be part of their family around October 1953. My understanding..the family wanted to adopt Wayne but the Birth mother, selfishly, wouldn't give consent. As a result, he never felt like he quite belonged or 'fit in', so to speak. Many years later, we managed to get minimal information from CCAS..it was non identifying info and they couldnt or wouldnt provide any relevant data on the birth father, (his name was NOT Reid) whom they said had been a bus driver and had a drinking problem, according to Violet Reid, (privacy laws..what a crock) anyway Wayne did find out , he has two half brothers, the eldest named Donald Bunn age about 74 and Bruce Reid probably about 71. There are absolutely no more details at this time. Very sad a man has no connections to his past, I know it would mean the world to him to learn about where he stems from and possible blood ties, may put his heart at ease. It's important it be known, Wayne loves the people wo raised him and considers them his parents, but again, its a lack of feeling a connection. I believe he feels like he was just 'thrown' away, it's certainly how it sounds when he has talked about it with me, which has not been often,,,it's a very touchy subject. (and I think it hurts him) . Having said the *****, I am hoping that someone in Canada, will see this and it may ring a bell or two. It's the absolute biggest gift I could ever think to give this real Mr Nice Guy, husband of mine. If you think you may have any information that may help... I will answer any and all replies. Thank you so much, for your anticipated help.. Sincerely...Val Reid (nee Turner)
