Hi i am trying to find information on amelia heasman, born 1821 Lambeth London she has a sister called mary heasman born 12 jan 1820 christened 6 may 1832 st marys newington surrey, there is a brother john heasman he was born 9 nov 1823 christened 6 may 1832 st marys newington surrey. 1613. AMELIA HEDSMAN was indicated for stealing on the 20th of May, 18 sheets, value 4pds 10 shillings; 1 pair of gloves, value 6d. ; 36 towels,value, 18s, ; 5 bolster cases value 10 shillings, ; 10 pillow cases value, ; 10 shillings, ; 1 bed cover, ; value 12 shillings 4 toliet covers, ; value 8 shillings 4 table cloths, ; value1 pound 3 night gowns, ; value 12 shillings 12 pairs of socks, ; value 1 pond 4 shillings 1 broach, ; value 2 pound 1 ring, ; value 1 pound 1 gaurd chain, ; value 10 shillings and 1 key value 1 dime the goods of Hector Henderson. Mr. Bodkin conducted the Prosecution. MARY ANN HENDERSON. I am the daughter of Mrs. Norris, of Union place Lambeth. I was staying with her in May last-the prisoner was her servant-while i was there i lost nine pairsof sheets, twentyfour towels, and a variety of articles as stated in the indictment- i am the wife of Hector Henderson- the things were kept in my father'sroom the prisoner had access to the room i missed the key of the box where the things were it was taken off my ring i saw her searched and heard something drop from her and found it was my key. JamesWild iama police,am, In consequences of information i took the prisoner into custody at Deptford fair- I told her i took her for robbing her mistress she said she acknowledge having thelinen but knew nothing of the jewllery i produced a key of thelinen chest which was given to me and a pair of kid gloves which were taken fromher. Joseph Parker- I ama pawnbroker i produce a gold broach pawned atmy shop on the 10th of April by the prisoner for8 shillings i made particular inquiry wheather it was her own i am certain of her i have one sheet pawned by her which is related to aother indictment. (PROPERTY PRODUCED AND SWORN TO) Prisoners defence- (written) 'i have amother in great distress with five children my family are respectable and i always bore a good character when the prosecutrix accused me of the crime shepromised me forgiveness i have paid her forpart of the things and my friends have offered ropay her the rest.' (GUILTY* AGED 15- TRANSPORTED FOR SEVEN YEARS.) (the prosecutrix stated the prisoner had previously robbed her to a large amount and she had forgiven her.)
