Hi Can Anyone Please Heeeeeeeelp !!!!! I am trying to trace the PARENTS & GRANDPARENTS etc of my Grandfather 'JAMES ERNEST LUKE'. I have been able to retrieve a copy of his ~~MARRIAGE CERTIFICATE ~~& his ~~DEATH CERTIFICATE~~, but I am unable to find any record of his birth. JAMES was b: 1915 & d:1957 I was told that he married my grandmother Dorothy in Plymouth Devon & he was in the army up until his death. Sadly neither the marriage nor death certificate has given me a name or any information that would help towards finding his parents etc. If anyone can help I would really appreciate it many thanks guys & gals Betty Avril Luke (my friends call me Beth) Thank you everyone who has come back to me with the info, the problem I have is the first quarter entry for birth reg in1916 (birth of my grandad in 1915) is so dark & smudged the entry looks more like an R than an E. BACK TO THE DRAWING BOARD FOLKS !! IT WAS AN R - thanks for your help Alan Good luck one & all in your searches
