Hi, I am trying to locate a George Berry (my great great grandfather) born in Scotland (whereabouts not known) around 1840/41, his father's name was also George . The first census I have a confirmed match is on the 1871 census. I know that he came to England and worked in St Georges Hanover Square Middlesex as a Valet/Servant in the 1860's because he met and married Elizabeth Mitchell. They had a daughter (Annie Lucy born 1866) they lived at 10 Caroline Street St Georges Hanover Square. The family then moved to Cheetham in Manchester where they lived at 23 Whitegate. They had a further three children (to my knowledge) George John bn 1867, Charles bn 1870 and Arthur bn 1878. From the 1881 census the family lived at 5 St Marks Lane Cheetham. If anyone out there has any information I would love to hear from them. Regards Teresa
