SAMUEL NIVEN - SON OF JOHN NIVEN & REBECCA ARBUCKLE. Looking for descendants of Samuel Niven who was born c1895 in Scotland the youngest in his family. He was about a year old when his mother died. His father predeceased his mother. At some point his eldest sister left Scotland for Northern England where she married Peter McLachlan. The Free BMD shows that Rebecca married Peter McLachlan in the Dec. 1899 Quarter. The 1901 Census for Northumberland records Rebecca (22) as head of household living with her brother-in-law Robert and her brother Samuel (6). The Free BMD shows that Rebecca (Niven) McLachlan died c1903. It is believed that Samuel who would have been about 8 years of age, returned to Scotland, married and had a family. Would you be willing to share information with me. Rebecca Niven McLachlan and Samuel Niven were the siblings of my grandfather Robert Angus Niven. Norma (Niven) Chantler wife of James Joseph Chantler
