Trying to find Unwin

I am trying to find my great uncle, William Edmund Unwin (who was born Welton), born March Qtr. 1894 in Chester and was killed in action on 8 July 1915 in Belgium. He was the son of Allan Keeble and Maria Welton and brother to Allan (1887), Frederick Zachariah (1889), and Alice Rebecca (1892). His parents died when he was two years of age and his older brothers and sister were raised in an orphanage in Birmingham. William would have been too young to be sent to the orphanage, so it is possible that he was 'fostered' and may have taken the name of Unwin from his foster family. I have been able to trace his army service records and have details from his headstone that he served under the name of Unwin, although Private William Welton was inscribed on his grave. This suggests that he was probably never legally adopted by his foster parents. I am really anxious to find out more about his upbringing, so if you know anything about William please get in touch. Thank you for reading this.
