I am looking for information about my great grandmother's family: Lillie Steers (nee Reeve) was the daughter of John Reeve and Mary Ann Gomm. They owned (or managed? not sure) the Bell public house in Tring. Lillie was born in 1879 and died in 1964 - she married my great grandfather John Steers (around 1897/8? - their first child my grandfather Ernest John Steers was born in 1899) and lived all of her married life in Leverstock Green, near Hemel Hempstead. She had a brother Ernest born 1872. Lillie's father John Reeve was one of 10 children - his parents were William born 1818 and Harriet Rose born 1821. William's parents were Benjamin and Ann Thorn - no dates found for them so far. Any further information on the Reeve family in Tring would be appreciated. Thank you. Linda. |
