The branch of the Loudon family I am researching lived at Mossview Cottages, Garnkirk, Lanarkshire at time of 1901 Census. Father, James Loudon, b.circa 1847, woked at one time at Brickworks? in Garnkirk but was later a jobbing gardener. His wife was Jane m.s.Allan.They had at least 10 children, John, Janet, Robert, George, Jeanie and twins William and Hannah two others names unknown and lastly David. Some of the brothers went to Austrailia and worked in logging camps. At least one came back to U.K. don't know about others.James Loudon died at Garnkirk 23rd April, 1910, death registered by another son,,Alex. On death cert. James's mother's maiden name was given as Stark. Hope this is of some help to others.
