Hi can anyone help me I am trying to find a connection to Cuthbert Collingwood but I am having trouble my great great grandfather was Alexander Thomas Collingwood, born in Southwark london (surrey) in 1837 just before the record office started recording births deaths and marriages, he was a royal marrine I found his fathers name out on his marriage certificate it was Joseph Collingwood, he is down as a clerk, the census records that I have found say he was born in bermonsey surrey many years a go my mother and her family were told by a aunt that they were related to Cuthbert Collingwood, I now it is not a direct connection because he only had duaghters can anyone help me in anyway to make the connection to the north and to Cuthbert.
