Hi Are there any Salmon's listed. I have a John Salmon b.1780 ish who i believe was transported to Australia. regards gina

Hi Denise Any of these ring bells?No ages shown on the database. Edward Bird transported to Van Diemans Land on the Vessel Marion 7/6/1845. Convicted Norwich Quarter Sessions 18/3/1845 sentenced to 7years(does not give details of his 'crime'. Joseph Bird transported to Van Diemans Land on Vessel Agincourt 6/7/1844 . Convicted Norfolk Assizes 22/3/1844 sentenced to Life Thomas Bird transported to New South Waleson the Vessel James Pattison 10/7/1836. Convicted Norwich Quarter Sessions 28/6/1836 sentenced to 7years You may be able to get more details regarding the crimes from court records which may be available at the Norfolk Records Office. In case you do not know Van Diemans Land is now New Zealand. Regards Mary

Hi Kerri Found a record as follows: Archibald McCrossan Transported on Vessel Marian to Western Australia 30/10/1851.Convicted at Glasgow Court of Judiciary 21/4/1847.Sentenced to 15 years. No age shown. Looks as if it might be your chap?? Regards Mary

Hi Mary Archibald McCrossan b abt 1822 from Scotland,probably Glasgow. Sent to Australia as convict in 1852. His father was John. Is there any information about him on this database? PS I asked on another thread for information on Scotland census,etc for him. Thankyou Kerri
