Have you tried the Casualty List on the Commonwealth War Graves Commission site? Always worth a try I think! Also he would have been old enough to enlist if not needed as a Policeman during WW2? Or search for a marriage possibly after 1945? Good Luck Marlene |

i got my grandfathers records this way that is how i found out about him all they could tell me is The papers closed due to Data Protection are correspondence relating to the son named Angus Mitchell when he was aged 16 in 1937- unfortunately that's all I can tell you. These papers would only be accessible to you if you could provide a copy of Angus Mitchell's death certificate or a letter of permission from him if he is still living. |

found out this week my grandfather had 2 other sons i did not know about. angus was born 25/04/1920 in helensburgh and in 1937 he was aged 16 and joined the police force after that unsure. i presume at this time he was in clydebank helensburgh area as this was where his dad was stationed as a police man |
