I know that some of my family emigrated to New Zealand but I'm not sure when and who exactly went. Before I start ordering certificates and searches from the Dept. of Internal Affairs I was wondering if anyone could help. The dates of death have been drawn from the IGI and I can't find anything in the UK on them - all were born in Clun, Shropshire: George Henry Morgan born 11 May 1880 - died 31 October 1936 (I'm almost certain George emigrated). Edith Ann Morgan born 05 February 1883 - died 30 March 1974, Arthur William Morgan born 03 May 1886 - died 23 July 1913, Thomas Alfred Morgan born 28 August 1889 - died 09 October 1966. Any help or steer would be appreciated. Phil

The records on IGI are submitted by a member and should be viewed with caution. Maureen

Hi I take it you have no idea where George Henry Morgan went if in NZ? Was he the only one you believe came to NZ? I see with the info I have that there is a George Henry Morgan who had a probate filed in the Invergargill Court (NZ) on 10 November 1936. Area: Winton Occupation: Farmer Dates are close. More records are kept at: Archives - Dunedin, NZ The information I have available list numerous George Henry Morgan's over many years and a large number of marriages so I can only guess they are different people. Somehow I think you may need an area or something to help ascertain if any of the names are likely. There is also a brilliant NZ research email list thru rootsweb. Contact me if you want anymore details in regard to this email list.

Hi All Many thanks for coming back so quickly. I really, really appreciate your help with this and esp. for looking at 'Find My Past' Sophie. Thanks for the warning Glitter Baby (Great Name!) - it just seemed so accurate the info provided by IGI and as I couldn't find them in UK deaths....... my train of thought was they all blinking emigrated (lol). Having said that I am also pretty certain that Thomas Alfred Morgan emigrated but George is my firm bet. Cheers Diane, I have sent you a message. Regards Phil
