Angela - many many thanks. It certainly looks good. I did myself wonder if Margaret was Sarah's illegitimate child as William would only have been about 17 when she was born. The rest of the info certainly looks more than a possibility. Is Razia Barton male or female ? and is Wm. John Barton Margaret's husband or child ? Thank you very much for helping me with this. Gwyneth, thank you. From what you found it does indeed look as if he married Mary Little. How tragic if she too died in or after childbirth. My other thought regarding the two youngsters being with their grandparents is that perhaps their mother had to go into service to support them which is why grandparents have stepped in to help.

Regarding the 1892 marriage....Is this the one on freebmd? Thank you Jim and Jennifer for your help. I am a little puzzled now - you see I have William & Margaret Snr and their family from 1851 onwards. In 1881 their son William b 1860 was 21 and married to Sarah (nee Mathers) with a daughter Margaret 4. Sarah appears to have died in 1883, possibly in childbirth. By 1891 William (1860) was widowed, a servant but no sign of his daughter Margaret,. I wondered if she was perhaps living with her grandparents, the above William Snr and Margaret but she wasn't - but grandson William b. 1883 was living with them(obviously Wm & Sarah's child). When I got to the 1901 census there are indeed TWO grandchildren living with William Snr and Margaret - Maud b. 1893 Wigton reg dist and Harold b. Sep 1899 Wigton reg dist. These have GOT to be William Jnr.'s children as he only had one other brother - Mason Blaylock - and all of Mason's family are accounted for. From this it would appear that at some point between 1891 and 1901 William re-married. I have in fact found a marriage which could be his in Dec 1892 to either Jane Forster or Mary Little. I have also found what looks like William's death December 1898. Three crucial questions - did William's second wife Jane/Mary also die in childbirth? and were Maud and Harold orphans at the young ages of 8 and 1 ? and what happened to Margaret (Sarah's child)? Has anyone any ideas ? please

Would someone be kind enough to look for William Blaylock aged abt 67, and wife Margaret aged abt 60 and tell me who else isliving with them. This would be Cumberland - possibly Hayton. I am hoping they have grand-daughter Margaret with them. Thank you.
