Hi Margaret Many thanks for taking the time to doo this look up for me. It is much appreciated. I just know that Frederick's birth was registered as Wisbeach from Free BMD. I know that his mother was born in East Looe in Cornwall, but spent most of her life on the Channel Islands, and apparently only spoke French, according to my gran. Susannah was my Gran's Gran and Frederick was my Gran's Dad. I was hoping to find their marriage in roughly the same place as Fredericks birth as I haven't been able to find it anywhere else. Still, never mind. Please feel free to contact me if I can ever help you out in any way. Take care. Dianne xx

Dianne, sorry no luck with Saunders or Martyn. Are you certain they came from Wisbech? I took the liberty of checking Camdex but couldn't find them there either. Wisbech is close to the County Boundary with Lincolnshire and Norfolk, maybe they're there. M. Steer

Hi Margaret Thank you very much for your kind offer. Do you have a baptism for Frederick Martyn Saunders, born Oct Nov Dec Quarter 1865 Wisbeach. Also if possible a marriage for his parents John Saunders and Susannah Maria (or sometimes Margaret) Martyn, somewhere around the same date. Thanks Dianne xx

Susie, sorry couldn't find your William Sneesby. There are an awful lot of Sneesbys (and variations), but nothing much pre 18thC., and none in Over. They mostly appear in Chatteris and Manea. It was worth a try though! If you want anymore 'checks' please feel free to ask. M. Steer

Any entries for PLEASANT / PLEASANTS / PLEASANCE with the forename or middle name Ross would be of great interest. Also any marriage betweeen a ROSS and a PLEASANCE (or variants). Thank you very much, Chris

Shannette, sorry no, Huntingdon is not included. Susie, according to the 'contents' Over is not included but I have come across some entries definitely stating Over. Give me a name, approx. date and event, I'll have a look. M. Steer

Does this cover the town of Huntingdon as I know the boundary was different in the past?

margaret thankyou for looking any way is over indexed hun? i have loads in over lol susie

Margaret

Margaret Report 25 Jul 2007 10:57

Liz, Marriage: John Sivell, 1796, Camb.St.Peter. The Index doesn't give name of Spouse, so it's a case of cross referencing other marriages in that church for that year. The only one I could find, that fits is Katharine Single. Regards, M. Steer.

Susie, no luck I'm afraid. Long Stanton doesn't seem to be very well indexed, not that far back at any rate. Sorry. M. Steer
