Find Ancestors

I come from England but I live in Italy. It's just nice at the moment, having been far too hot for the last few days (around 36°C). We live near the Alps, but I understand it's still very hot down south. However, we've also had a very strange year for weather - it was very hot earlier in the year, and we then had a miserable, extremely rainy June. Hope you're not in one of the flooded areas.

Mary Thanks for these. I already have the death cert for this William. He was William Bronterre Kalthoeber aged 14, which makes his birth 1849. Not the William I'm after, I'm afraid. The Joseph Edward death age is 18 because I have the birth reference for him in 1854. Again, thanks for your perseverence. Ron ps how's the weather in Italy? Must be better than England - it's absolutely atrocious. Or are you in England and come from Italy?

This could be William's death: Deaths Sep 1863 KALTHOEBER William Marylebone 1a 296 There's also this death of a Joseph Kalthoeber; the age is wrong for yours, but it might be worth looking into. Deaths Jun 1872 KALTHOEBER Joseph Edward 18 Marylebone 1a 299 I've just had a look at the image on FreeBMD - the age might be 18, but it's not absolutely clear: it might possibly be 48.

Ron, for future reference I found Ann by searching for Ann* Kal* born 1831 +/- 5 years. The asterisk is a wildcard, which is very useful when searching Ancestry.

In the 1841 census (HO107/730/6) Westminster, St Anne Soho I have William Kalthoeber 45 Bookbinder born same county Mary ditto 25 ditto Joseph ditto 14 ditto George ditto 12 ditto Ann ditto 10 ditto Mary ditto 5 months ditto Ancestry has transcribed them as Kaltheeber In the 1851 census (HO107/1512/290) Westminster, St Clement Danes No William Mary Ann Kalthoeber Wife Mar 39 born London Mary Ann J ditto Dau 10 ditto James H ditto Son 8 ditto Hann V ditto Son 6 ditto John H ditto Son 4 ditto Alice ditto Dau 5 months ditto Ancestry had transcribed them as Kalsheober My questions are where are Joseph. George and Ann (she may have married) in the 1851 census and also where is William in 1851 (I believe he died after 1851, maybe in 1853)? I have found James H, Hann V, John H and Alice in later census records, so am not concerned about them. Sorry for the long message. Any help gratefully received
