Member Since: March 2003 Posts: 200 Send Message	My husband was born in 1948, he knows that his twin brother was stillborn although his parents didn't give any details, I cannot find either the birth or death of this child, does anyone know whether stillbirths had to be registered in 1948? Cherryl

	If you go to the GRO website there is a full explanation about stillbirths, they are entered in a seperate register & only the next of kin can access the details. http://www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/ Georgina.

	If you husband's parents are still alive only they can access the stillbirth record. However if they are deceased, your husband, as a sibling, can apply for the record. You would need to contact the General Register Office at Southport, as there is a special form to fill in to apply. Kath. x
