hi have a james wilde 1865 and siblings born in shrewsbury salop, i know his wife was called sarah chomandley 1869 shrewsbury chilton, but can find nothing on her and no further than james.. could any one help please thanks amanda

Did you get Sarah's name from a marriage certificate or from a child's birth certificate? Could the spelling be different? Kath. x

hi, thanks dont have a clue when they married, got her name from her grandson who is my gt uncle so name could be wrong, definately sarah but surname is how he said, so... thanks amanda xx

1901 census gives: James 35 Sarah 32 Esther 7 Mary J 12 James Edmund 10 Louisa Agnes 4 Arthur H 2 Looks like they should be together in 1891 but I can't find them at the moment.

hi ye thats them as arthur is my gt grandad and i new him, but untill recently never knew he had siblings... but that is them... so stuck on james and especially sarah xx

Yes in 1901. They are in Alpraham, Cheshire at Bunbury Locks on a barge. James is a canal boatman.

Why don't you get Arthur's birth certificate then you'll have the surname for Sarah. Not having much luck with the censuses - sorry!

Hi Amanda, Not much further but I have established that there is no Clinton in Shropshire. It is probably Clunton which is in the Craven Arms/Ludlow area. Any chance of a scan of the cert so we can look at the handwriting? Failing that, what about getting Mary or James's birth cert. Janice
