Hi Rose Iam doing this for my aunty( well my uncles wife) she gave me the names as she cant find anything out about the father other than the father was born in 1825 his name was John McConnell she thinks he maybe Irish mary ann s maiden name was wilson , we are trying to find a marriage for them perhaps she got the name from walters birth cert ,perhaps he died after child was born thats why he is absent from census , why is walter missing from 1871/81 census very strange Carol |

Carol, Where did you get his father's name from? His marriage cert? There's a Mary Ann McConnell marrying in Dec 1861 but her husband isn't listed on FreeBMD. Rose |

Hi Maureen and Rose I am not convinced the 1871 Walter is him either , on the 1861 it gives him age 5mo but no father i cant find anything on father either his name was john McConnell i cant find a marriage for them either which at a guess would be around 1859/1860 any thoughts Carol x |
