Was living with brother Ernest william,Belmont Street off Monks Road in Lincoln in 1922 Ernest moved to Winn Street Lincoln in where he died 1926 Their parents were Charles Bird and Ellen Roper other children - Beatrice, Rose and Mary Sid was probably in the Great War When and where did he die? Did he marry? Has he any offspring? I'd be gratefull for any help--trying to find info for friend who until recently believed he might be the only Bird of the family left! Carol

Carol, Have you trawled through the Complete Index to UK Deaths on ancestry??? It's a long job 'cos you have to do it quarter by quarter, year by eyar.

If he were in the Great war you may be able to find a medal card for him on National Archives documents on line. As for the rest of the info - fraid none of us will know unless we are related to him! Have you tried searching in the trees on here? Have you asked every living rellie if they know anything? Failing that, its a trawl through the complete bmd index which you can do free on ancestry. Long old job though.
