Hi Kathryn Go to www(.)staffspasttrack(.)org(.)uk (remove brackets. Put Leycett in the quick search box and it will bring up some images. If you now click on the first one of the house you will get a link to some others. Regards Helen

Hi Me again found a better site. It has photo's of the old coal mine plus others take a look. http://www.search(*)staffspasttrack(*)org(*)uk/engine/search/default_hndlr(*)asp This is what it says by the old mine photo Closed in 1957. The main shaft had the most romantic name of any pit in North Staffordshire – the Fair Lady – but no one knows where the name came ... As before replace * with dots Cheryl x

Hi Its got its own Web site http://www*ukvillages*co*uk/ukvillages* nsf/villages/England/Leycett-Staffordshire Replace the * with dots. Just taken a quick look it has old photos' of the village as well as quite a bit of info Its just up the road from Madeley Staffs Cheryl x

Hiya Guys, Just wondered if anyone knows anything about this village which was mostly knocked down in 1960's.It was called Leycett and there was a colliery there and a school called woodland county primary and also a miners welfare institute,all that remains now is one row of houses and a cricket club.Any help appreciated.
