The professional golfer James Braid never played in the US as he was afraid of flying and suffered from motion sickness so wouldn't go by sea - so pa in law was wrong - his Uncle Arthur didn't follow the golfer! I'm sure I'll find out more one day Sue

Yes, I saw that - I'll ask father in law if he remembers any of these names but he is 87! He ties the emigration in with a friendship with a sister in law's husband who was a golf champion. In fact I think I'll just go and Google his name! Regards Sue

On the ship's manifest it says he is going to visit uncle Mr Faber at 200 Fifth Avenue in New York! do you know who this is! also it looks like Arthur is travelling with a Thomas Hancock! another Student.

I've never needed a USA lookup before and I'm not sure if I have enough info for you! Arthur CANT b 1890 , Upminster, Essex, England. Arrived in USA at Ellis Island June 1910, address on arrival, Fifth Ave NY but I imagine he moved on from there (pa in law believes he ended up in the Solomon Islands but we don't know when he went there). I'm afraid thats it! I realise its not much but it would make my father in law very happy if we can find some more info. Thanks, Sue
