Hi Sara, Sometimes you can email the library and they will do a search of the newspapers for you if you have an exact date of the inquest. Inquests were usually held very soon after the death in those days and reported within a day or two. Google the town name with the word library after it and you may find they have an email address. Hi Sara, I had this problem but and as I didn't know which paper was local to him so I put up a thread and a member gave me names of possible papers which might cover it. I also then contacted the cemetaries in the area to see where he was buried. Everyone was so helpful. I found his resting place and date of buriel, & who arranged his funeral. Once I knew the area I was able to contact the library and they sent me a photocopy of the report which was in the newspaper. So good luck, Lou

Very few coroner's reports survive, but you can usually get details of an inquest from local newspaper reports which are more than likely held on microfilm at the nearest library to the event. Kath. x

Does anyone know if it is possible to view Coroners Reports and how to go about it? I am wanting to know more details about a death in 1925 in the Devon area. I have searched my reference books but this subject is not covered. Thank you. Sara
