Hi on the 1861 census Mary Ann H???, Charlotte Jane and Lucy Hannah Chipp are living with their father William Stephen Chipp in Portsea. It is stated that William is married so if William and Lucy did have a daugther Elizabeth Ann, maybe she is elsewhere with her mother on census night. Thank you Scarlet, I'm sorry that I did not get back to you before but I have been off line for a few days. Thank you for what you have found, it is strange that there is a daughter for Jacob & Charlotte Chipp where I can find on Census as well but no birth. I think I will have to forget it for now and as you say will have to get a marriage certificate which I will probably do later on but at the moment it is not my top priority. It does seem a strange one, I was thinking that the age for William that you have should probably be 34. The ages seem wrong for Lucy but definetly the one I asked for, I wonder where Elizabeth is! Is there any possibility of finding the 1861 Census for me please and see what that will come up with. It seems strange but I can only find one of Elizabeth Ann in the Census/ Births and Marriages. Can't understand it. I am looking for a Mary Ann Henrietta born 1851 sister to Elizabeth maybe she will be on 1861 and hopefully her sister. Thanks for your help Julia

I am hoping somebody can help me, I thought I had got this family all sorted out when a contact makes me think otherwise. I am looking for 1851/61 Census for William Chipp B1806? St Mary's Portsea Hampshire & wife Lucy B1811 Hampshire. I have a daughter Elizabeth Ann b1845 Portsea Hampshire and need to find out what other children are on it. My problem is I have an Elizabeth Ann Chipp married to James Mann in 1867 and need to know whom her parents are. It seems to be a toss up between these and Jacob and Charlotte Chipp, the problem being I can find no trace of a birth for the second couple.I have an 1851 Census for the latter and it says Eliza 13 and I think an Elizabeth 6 which would be correct but where the birth is I don't know. Any help you can give me would be appreciated. Julia
