HI Helen The BVRI does not show any listings for Hough on the Hill or Leadenhall Lincs. Lots of Clays in Lincolnshire, but no parishes which appear to be near either of these places. Do you want to give me some specific names and time frame ? Diane

Hi Di I,ve just seen you reply, the name i,m looking for is Michael Clay, Born either Leadenham or hough on the hill around 1740, looking for his parents. Helen.

Hi Helen Sorry for the delay - I went to bed 'cause its freezing here in Sydney. There's one Michael Clay baptised 27 Jun 1746, parents Michl and Eliz Clay, at Leadenhall. Other children Richard, Ann, and ELizabeth, or is this the wrong family ? Diane

Hi Helen Dates of other baptisms - Ann 24 Feb 1739, Elizabeth 11 Jul 1742 and Richard 6 Sep 1754. The index does not give any more details, you may pick up something in the original registers, although the ones I have seen are handwritten and don't usually contain any more than name, date, parents. You may occaisionally get a mothers maiden name, but not often. No marriage for Michael and Elizabeth. Diane
