Did you see the father's occupation? Butcher :))))) Without your help, I wouldn't have looked for just Albert L. (no surname.) I've searched for him over and over again!!! Thank you so much! Now trying to track down the family. I can't wait to tell my hubby!!!! (Of course, he'll just reply 'oh, that's good.' ;)

No, Rose, I don't. And because there's no census for 1890, I'm stuck. I don't know anything about the family, so can't even look for parents' names in 1910. I know that the name 'Lafayette' was handed down to his son, and Albert was handed down three generations or more, but that's all I know. His daughter Martha died decades ago, so there's no way to trace the family on her side. PS 'We' don't know anything about the family.

Do you have him in 1900? I don't see any obvious matches. Rose

I wasn't too sure if a meat cutter and retail clerk were on different 'levels' - perhaps you are correct, it certainly does seem logical. I wish I could find his family as he's my hubby relative.

I supposed he could be the one. In 1910 he's a meat cutter, 1920 a retail grocer clerk, 1930 a retail grocers salesman. Looks like he was moving up through the trade. Rose

Hi Rose. Thank you for your help. That is the only 'match' I can find, but since he had a common name, I'm hesitant to say it's him. His address is close to where he lived in 1920, but it's still not proof. However, let's say it is him. I believe I can't go any further as I don't know other relative's names. :( Any suggestions most welcomed. But, thank you for your help so far. :)

Wondering if I've found the correct Albert Lafayette Jones in 1910?...Born 7-Dec-1884 in Alabama. Found on 1930, 1920 census in Memphis, Tennessee (& WWI card) with wife Martha...Wondering if this Albert is the one living with Bernsteins in 1910 in Memphis? Would love to find his information prior to 1920. Thank you.
