Yes, I bet she died in childbirth with Emily. Thankyou so much ladies. Have to pick children up now, how easy we have it compared to then. x

There is also a death for Emily Burton age 29 March Qtr 1898 Aston 6d 237. Could this be her (her year of birth was originally given as 1868) which could make her 29/30 at time of death. Mary Snap Angela, just that the old fingers are slowing down!! Sorry Romany but children left without a Mum and often a Dad were only too common back then, but I am sure the Grandparents took very good care of her as the family often rallied round and helped. I saw the lad with Maria and Thomas, but his surname was Durber, I thought he'd be the son of another one of Thomas & Maria's kids. ** Sorry Reg, yes youre right. Thank God for sharp eyes, I thought it said Durber. I need to wear my glasses, and Im not joking!

1891....perhaps? Name: Emily Purton Age: 26 Estimated birth year: abt 1865 Relation: Wife Spouse's name: George Gender: Female Where born: Alcester, Warwickshire, England Civil parish: Tanworth Ecclesiastical parish: Nuthurst St Thomas Town: Nuthurst County/Island: Warwickshire Country: England Registration district: Solihull Sub-registration district: Tanworth ED, institution, or vessel: 3 Neighbors: View others on page Household Members: Name Age Emily Purton 26 Frank Purton 3/12 b. Tanworth George Purton 24 b. Tanworth...Railway Platelayer The image is clearly 'Purton'........but the enumerator could have misheard......or transferred incorrectly from his notes. I can't see these people under 'Purton' in 1901........... The marriage cert would confirm George's occupation.............. Reg

Couldnt find them on 1891. Thought it was strange I'd not got anything down for it.

RStar Report 12 Jul 2007 15:00

I dont have them on a census together as they married just before Emily was born. (hang on, I'll check my folder to be sure). No, Im wrong, they wed in 1888. I'll double check 1891 for occupation.

What was George's occupation? Could it have taken him abroad.........plus his wife? I see her big brother is also there in 1901.......... Reg

I have Emily M Burton born 1898 in Birmingham, daughter of George and Emily Burton nee Durber. On the 1901 census she's with her grandparents Thomas & Maria Durber in Aston, Birmingham. I can't see a death for Emily (born 1868 in Alcester) so I don't know where George and Emily have cleared off to, and why little Emily isnt with them. I feel so sorry for her, even if it was over 100 years ago!
