St Ives and Penzance are two separate towns, about 8 miles apart, but Penzance is the registration district for St Ives (post 1837, of course). St Ives has its own, very ancient church, so a birth in St Ives would mean a baptism in St Ives Parish church at that time. If you google Cornwall OPC, you may find baptisms on line, and you will certainly find a useful contact, if they are not. OC |

Any information would be most welcomed. James Couch Jones born in St Ives 1813 - I do not know of a baptism or his parents names. He married? Alice Perry at some point (date & place not known but maybe between 1830 -1837) I believe their first child arrived in 1836 - a Thomas Jones I believe was born in St Ives, then 20 December 1837 James Couch Jones born in Penzance - I'm not sure if St Ives and Penzance are the same or very different places. Can anyone help piece this bit of my tree together - sorry not much to go on, kind regards, S Jones |
