Thanks for your replies, I`ll contact some of these places and take it from there.I know when I was doing Market research 10/15 years ago you could always do lookups in the Reference Libraries of most towns. This stopped when people could choose to be on the full electoral roll or the shortened one --- this got the Councils involved and then we had organised CHAOS !!! Thanks again, will let you know how I get on

i googled it..might behelpful .an answer to some whos also looking thorntonheath electrol rolls Posted: Sun Jun 10, 2007 8:12 pm Post subject: Eleectoral Roll for Thornton Heath -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I think that Thornton Heath is in the LB Croydon. Therefore take a look on the Familia website. This is page you want is http://www.familia.org.uk/services/london/croydon.html and here you will find the Local Studies Library, which holds all the documents you want. The London Metropolitan Archives may have what you want as well. And so will the British Library. Electoral registers are laid out by street and ward. If you know the address that is fine, but if not try old telephone directories or old street directories, which have entries by name. I hope this helps. Let me know how you get on.

I dont know but I'm bumping this because I would be interested in the answer. I have also emailed my local returning officer (not Thorton Heath) asking how long they keep electoral rolls and if they are available to researchers. Later.. In my constituency the returning officer has the rolls from 1991, and earlier ones are at the County Records Office.
