I don't have access to the parish records but on the 1851 census there are 18 Pesters either living in or born in Gloucestershire. Kath. x

Does anybody have access to the Parish Records for Westbury on Trym Gloucestershire please? I'm trying to find out why one of my family members has the middle name of 'Pester'. His parents were Thomas Slade and Elizabeth Mayo born 1820 WoT. Elizabeth's father was Philip Mayo, mother's name Elizabeth? No 'Pester' married into the Slade side of the family, therefore assume that it must be on the Mayo side. The 'Pester' name does appear in WoT and other parts of Gloucestershire in the IGI records. Regards...Teresa
