Hi I am trying to figure out the relationship between 2 people who are buried together James HOPE and Emma HOPE both born c1890 died in Geelong VIC - I have a James Edward Charles HOPE in my tree married to Martha Amanda Neilson, but when I went to look for James' burial record found him buried with an Emma? i am now wondering if there are 2 James Hopes. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You can find Victoria BMDs here: http://online.justice.vic.gov.au/bdm/index-search The index contains: births (1853 to 1924) marriages (1853 to 1942) deaths (1853 to 1985) If you can't find what you need in the index, your best bet would be to get James Hope's death cert., which should give details of all his wives and children (assuming they were known to the informant).

Hi Dan, I have Vic BMD discs. James Edward Charles Hope died in Geelong in 1954 and his age was 67. His parents were James Hope and Elizabeth unknown. James Hope died in 1973 in Geelong and his age was 67. His parents were James Hope and Amanda Nelson. Emma died in Geelong in 1975. Her parents were Alfred Button and Ellen Brown. My James Hope was maried to Martha Amanda Nelson, and going by their respective obituaries they dont appear to have divorced yet James is buried with a Emma HOPE nee Button? and his wife Martha Amanda Hope buried seperately?
