Thanks for your replies I actually went to look at the parish records but no sign of him although thereare3 other Adams children there and on the IGI. I actually got the 1837 marriage certificate but he does not name his father - typical! Seem to have hit a brick wall which is a shame with a name like Adams!! Alice

Actually, I have several Bethia's in my own family line, from Buckinghamshire. I wonder if it is also a bible name??

Also, Were you looking at the parish records on the internet, or did you actually go to where they are kept??? If on the internet .............. they may not yet have been transcribed.
