lost at sea death- how can i obtain copy of deat

The National Archives has a section on deaths at sea. I think you would need to visit. Margaret

Have you searched forward from dec 1948 I expect it would take an enquiry re the loss of the boat before any death certs would be issued. That enquiry could have been taken several months ahead Shirley

Hello. My grandad was William Adams. He died on board Coastal Vessel River loyne in December 1948. He was aged just 27 years old. Some remains of the boat are thought to have been found a few months later near Puffin Island, Wales. The boat never made it back To The Mersey. How do I find his death certificate? If someone could help that would be lovely. regards Jill Adams x
