Hi Margaret Could this be them on the 1871 (transcribed Goldby) John Goldby 19 Born Walsall, staffs Mary Ann Goldby 18 Thomas Goldby 6 months Ecclesiastical parish Bloxwich Town Bloxwich Reg District Walsall Source citation RG10 Piece 2957 Folio 72 Pg 15 Sandy P.S. have just checked image and she is also down as from Walsall and Thomas is down as from coalpool, Staffs. Johns occupation is a Miner

Thanks Kathleen but I dont think thats her. She must be born c1853 from her death cert. She had a son Thomas born c1871 Walsall.( Coal Pool) according to the 1881 census. I can only find a Thomas Edward Gollby 1870 dec qt Walsall. If thats him then he should be on the census with her

There is this Mary A. as a lodger in 1871 (though not the right spelling of name and not where you expected her). Just had confirmation from friend. John Golby died 21 st April1875 age 24. Mary Ann died May 10th 1875 age 22.. BUT where are they in 1871

I can't find them either. If the children are living with their grandparents it is possible that both parents have died. I looked on free BMD and found a possible death for john: John Golby born abt 1851 died 1875 Apr-May-Jun Penkridge Staffordshire and in the same place: Mary Ann Golby born abt 1853 died 1875 Apr-May-Jun Penkridge Staffordshire Although it is not Walsall, I think this is a possibility

Sorry on other site. Doing this for a friend. He says John c1851 and Mary Ann c1851 both Walsall but could just be living in Walsall. Children born in Walsall

John Golby married Mary Ann S Evans in 1869 Walsall . I cant find them in 1881. However their 2 children Thomas and John are living with Evans grandparents. Can you find John and Mary Ann in 1871 please Margaret
